Robin K. Dore, MD, is a board-certified rheumatologist in private practice in Anaheim, CA and a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCLA. She is immediate past-president of the Southern California Rheumatology Society.
Dr. Dore is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, and has served on its Board of Directors and various committees. Most recently, she was the College's representative to the American Medical Association CPT Advisory Committee.
Dr. Dore graduated medical school from the University of California, Irvine, and received her rheumatology training at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center. She is certified as a clinical densitometrist by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry.
She is active in the Arthritis Foundation, and has received recognition for her contributions to patient and physician education and community service. In 2000, the Arthritis Foundation acknowledged her contributions to the development of Bone Builders, a program devoted to educating girls and young women about the importance of healthy lifestyles in the prevention of osteoporosis and available at www.beabonebuilder.com. This program has been used by Girl Scout troops throughout the United States.
An active clinical investigator, Dr. Dore participates in research studies of medications for the treatment of osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other diseases. She has investigated anti-TNF, anti-IL1, COX-2, selective estrogen receptor modulator, parathyroid hormone, and other agents.
Dr. Dore is a speaker and/or consultant for and/or receives grants from Amgen, Abbott Pharmaceuticals, Aventis, Eli Lilly and Company, McNeil, Merck and Co., Inc., Pfizer, Procter & Gamble, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, and other pharmaceutical companies.
